Obituary of Burton Jordan, Jr.
Funeral services for Burton Jordan, Jr., age 70 of Clarks will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 19, 2018 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Columbia, LA with Rev. Jack McKeithen officiating. Interment will follow at Jordan Fife Cemetery, Copenhagen, LA. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home also on Friday.
Burton Jordan, Jr. was born July 22, 1948 in Wisner, LA to the union of his parents, John B. Jordan, Sr. and Edna Marie Smith Jordan and he passed from this life on October 16, 2018 at the Veteran's Home in Monroe, LA. He proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a decorated war veteran. After his discharge from the military he worked in the oilfield as a driller. Burton was a well-known pool shark and dominoes player. He was a talented mechanic and an all-around good guy who was loved by family and friends. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita D. Jordan, his father, John Jordan, Sr. and sister, Angela Jordan.
Burton is survived by his mother, Edna Jordan; his son, Logan Whitten; five brothers: Jack Jordan and wife, Vicki, John Jordan and wife, Mary, Wayne Jordan and wife, Christine, Randall Jordan and Jodie Jordan; sister, Camille Jordan and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Edgar, Dale Hendrix, Glenn "Gunny" Hendrix, Duane Wilks, Cory Jacob Allen Greene and Cameron Greene. Honorary pallbearers are Logan Whitten, Jack Jordan and Chris Arnold.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to organizations committed to helping soldiers with PTSD. The Soldiers Project is one of these organizations.
