Obituary of Huey Busby
Funeral services for Huey P. Busby age 83 of Clarks, LA will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from the sanctuary of Old Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Whiittington and Rev. Charles Howard officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Bethel Cemetery under direction of Riser & Son Funearal Home of Columbia. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Huey P. Busby was born on March 30, 1935 at Cottonplant, LA to the union of William Wilbur Busby and Margaret Ann Matthews Busby and passed from this life on July 29, 2018 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia following an extended illness. Huey P. was surrounded by his large loving family as he was called home.
Huey was a retired employee of the Department of Transportation and Development with twenty years of service and also a retired Deputy with the Caldwell Parish Sheriff's Office for eighteen years which included security work at Citizens Medical Center. He was also over the Cleanup Crew that the Sheriff used to clean litter during this time as well. Huey was a faithful loving member of the Old Bethel Baptist Church at Clarks. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, three brothers and three sisters, and by a great-grandbaby boy.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are his loving wife, Artie Hyatt Busby of Clarks; his son, Jimmy Busby and wife, Jeanine of Clarks and his daughter, Debbie and Julian Crain of Clarks; his grandchildren that he was so proud of: Bobby Hatten and Christie, Mark Hatten and Tamara, Kim Martin and Chuck, Marcia Hatten and Pete, Misty Busby and Dennis, Kasey Guillory and Kiel, J.R. Busby and Heather, Timmy and Chasity Crain; twenty-five great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kiel Guillory, Dennis Gardner, Chuck Martin, Timmy Crain, Hunter Strickland and Tyler Hatten. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Barbo and Steve May.
The Busby Family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Pankaj Schroff and the entire staff of Citizens Medical Center for the wonderful care, love and support that they all showed during Mr. Busby's stay there.
