Funeral services for Kathleen A. Weed, age 79 of Sulfur, LA, formerly of Hebert, will be held at 10 AM Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Alto Baptist Church, Alto, LA with Rev. Allen Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Prewitt Cemetery, Mangham under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia. The family will receive visitors from 5 PM until 8 PM, Wednesday, March 13 at the funeral home, 7131 Hwy 165, Columbia and from 9 AM until 10 AM at Alto Baptist Church on Thursday.
Kathleen A. Weed was born October 12, 1939 in Mangham, LA to the union of Izell and Edna Arrant and she passed from this life on March 10, 2019 at Sulphur, LA after an extended illness. Kathleen worked for many years as a bank teller at Citizens Progressive Bank in Columbia. She enjoyed her many friends she worked with there. For many years she was an active member of Welcome Home Baptist Church in Hebert before moving her membership to Alto Baptist Church. Kathleen will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Purvis Weed and her brother, Donald Ray Arrant.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons: Randy Weed of Mangham and Todd Weed (Kim) of Alto; daughter, Julie Parker (Phillip) of Sulfur; sisters: Johnnie Sue Powell (Aubey) of Sterlington and Peggy Sproles of Mangham; grandchildren: T. J. Weed, Kiley Wilson, Miranda Weed, Mariah Mejias, Rylea NesSmith, Tyler Weed, Brittani Pritchard, Kaylee Parker and Ethan Weed and great-grandchildren: Addison NesSmith, Porter Wilson, Audrey Pritchard, Nataleigh Coon and Cohen Pritchard.
Serving as pallbearers will be T. J. Weed, Tyler Weed, Bryan Weed, Elvis Branch, Glynn Fabian and Ryan Richardson. Honorary pallbearers are Dub Weed, Phillip Parker and Gus Krapf.
