Wyvone Layone Powe was born February 7, 1948, in Columbia, Louisiana, to the union of her parents, Pinkey Lasyone and Ruby Thomas Lasyone. She passed to her heavenly home on July 31, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Larry Powe and Taylor Roberson; brothers-in-law, Robert Barnes and Michael White; and nephew, Eric Barnes.
Wyvone loved to hunt and fish and spend time with her family. She attended First Church of God. She loved her church family and enjoyed being involved in church activities as much as she could. She was a very loving and compassionate person who loved to help other people. Wyvone loved her family and cherished all the moments with her siblings, kids, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Ricky Powe (Melissa) of Downsville, LA and Portia Powe Cassels (Gary) of Grayson, LA; her sisters, Shirley Barnes (Fred Ketchem) of Crosby, TX and Patricia Lasyone of Columbia, LA; brother, Thurman Lasyone (Gwen) of Columbia, LA; grandchildren: Shelbi Cassels (Ashley), Kelsey Cassels (Collin Tibbs), Chase Cassels (Ellie), Keriann Baugus (Dalton), Kandis Smith (Paden), Kayla Reynolds (Jes Saylor), Rachelle Jones (Damien), Alexis Smith (Nick); 7 great-grandchildren; special friend and companion, Spencer Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Wyvone will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, August 10, 2024, from the sanctuary of Holum Baptist Church, Holum, LA. Inurnment will follow at Holum Cemetery. The family will begin to receive visitors at 1 PM prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
