Willie Prestridge

Funeral services for Willie P. "Boots" Prestridge age 93 of Kelly will be held 2pm Tuesday November 1, 2011 from the Columbia Chapel of Riser Funeral Home with the Rev. Shane Duke officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Star Cemetery at Kelly. Visitation will be on Monday evening from 5 to 9pm and again on Tuesday from 10am until time of service at the funeral home located at 7131 U S Highway 165, Columbia. Willie Perry Prestridge was born on September 7, 1918 in Caldwell Parish to the union of his parents William Perry Prestridge and Julia Olivia Claunch Prestridge. He passed from this life on Saturday October 29, 2011 at the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved wife, Lillie Elaine Bassett Prestridge. He served his country during World War II in the United States Army. Survivors include , his four daughters; Linda Perot and husband Curtis of Clarks, Sharon Traylor and husband Louis of Shreveport, Sandra Whittaker and husband Russell of Rockwall, Texas, and Cathy Bratton and husband Aubrey of Kelly. He also leaves six grandchildren, Amanda Coleman, Jeffrey Davidson, Tracy Catlin, Nick Bratton, Slade Traylor, and Amber Emerson; and eight great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Nick Bratton,Ace Catlin, Mike Coleman, Eddie Dunn, Jason Bratton, and John Rider.
