William "Hoot" Marshall Reitzell

Funeral services for William "Hoot" Marshall Reitzell, age 78, of Columbia, will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Ben McGehee officiating. Ronnie Darden will deliver the eulogy. Visitation will Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Columbia Hill Cemetery. Hoot was born June 21, 1936 in Clarks and he passed from this life on October 12, 2014 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. He was a deputy for 16 years and a sheriff for 4 years in Caldwell Parish. He was a Mason and was a member of the Clarks Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbia. His hobbies included hunting and playing golf. He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Barbara Barfield Reitzell of Columbia; son: Steve Reitzell and his wife Peggy of West Monroe; 2 daughters: Debbie Hatten of Columbia; Nell Poole and her husband Donnie of Arkansas; sister: Myrtle Williams and her husband Wayne of Arizona; 5 grandchildren: Gabe, Neely, Zach, Jay, and Mac; 6 great-grandchildren: Bryan, Tristan, Hudson, Noah, Aiden, and Conner; He is also survived by lifelong friends: David Erskine and Billy Bennett. Pallbearers will be Jamie Duff, Rex Darden, Mark Hatten, Mike Choate, Gabe Hatten, Zach Hatten, Jay Reitzell, and Mac Reitzell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chuck Cruse, Dale Powell, Ed Malcomb, Dick Meredith, Mark Perot, Maurice Mercer and the entire crew at C & A Development.
