William C. "Beaver" Beckley , age 70, was born on September 15, 1944 to the union of his parents, James Henry Beckley and Nancy Lucille Finley Beckley. He passed from this life on July 1, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family after a long fight with cancer.
Beaver was a veteran of the Vietnam War from 1965-1967. He was a retired millwright. He loved hunting and fishing but most of all he loved sharing his love of these things with his grandchildren. He cherished every moment he spent with them. He taught his children and grandchildren the true meaning of love and God is most important over all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife's parents: Thomas A "Parkie" and Elizabeth Jo Parkerson; brothers: Henry Beckley, Jr., William "Sap" Beckley, Jimmy Beckley, Tommy Beckley, Russell Beckley; sister, Gertie Cook and grandson, Codye Mardis.
Those left to cherish his memory: Cathy Beckley, wife of 45 years; sons: Dewayne Beckley and wife, Shana, Steve Beckley and wife, Julie, Darren Beckley, and Harold Beckley and wife, Sherry; grandchildren: Hunter Beckley and Kaylee Ford and son, Kayden; Hogan Beckley and Brooke Stapleton; Hollin Beckley, Hannah Claire Beckley, Cole Beckley, Cameron Beckley, Cayden Beckley, Ashley Brackett and Jodi O'bier, Kaitlyn Beckley, Jenna Beckley, Nicole Beckley and Abigail Mackenzie Beckley; brothers: Harris Ray Beckley and wife, Marlene, Bobby Beckley and wife, Rebecca and Jackie Beckley; sisters: Nancy Nugent, Sue Orr and husband, Keith and Toby Kilcrease; sisters-in-law: Ruby Beckley, Lorraine Beckley, Delaina Beckley; Norma Parkerson Spurells and husband, Warren; Renae Parkerson Cubbit and husband, Larry; brother-in-law, Tink Parkerson and wife, Kathy; special friends: Leroy and Suzanne Bratton; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services for Beaver Beckley will be held July 5, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church, where he was a member. Visitation will be at Crossroads Baptist Church, July 4, 2015 from 5 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Officiating the services will be Bro. Tommy Nelson and Bro. Shane Duke. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Pallbearers: Hunter Beckley, Hogan Beckley, Cole Beckley, Cameron Beckley, Cayden Beckley, Preston Crain and Jody O'bier. Honorary pallbearers: Donald Duke, Dub Baum, Butch Darden, Harold Dulaney, Nathan Kelly, Joey O'Neal, Leroy Bratton and the men of Cross Roads Baptist Church.
