Wavle Franklin

Funeral services for Wavle Bruce Franklin, age 81, of Columbia will be held 1pm Thursday Nov. 19 graveside at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery west of Columbia with the Rev. Rick Feazell officiating. Full Military Honors will be conducted graveside in dedication to his years of service to his country. The Franklin family will have visitation on Thursday from 9am until 12:30 at the funeral home. Wavle Bruce Franklin was born at Grayson,La. on April 14, 1928 and passed from this life on Nov. 15, 2009 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Alexandria. Mr. Franklin was a retired U S Army Veteran with a rank of E 7 Sgt First Class. He served during the Korea / Vietnam Era . He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie Bruce Franklin and Alice Lucinda Wall, his brothers Bill Franklin, Tom Franklin, George Melvin Franklin, and by his sister Euna Mae (Franklin) Phillips. Survivors include : His beloved wife: Maria (Herbst) Franklin of Columbia. Two Daughters: Sylvia (Franklin) Broadway and husband Jerry of Tennesse Colony, TX; and Susie (Franklin) Richard and husband Dan of Collierville,TN . Brother: Sammy Franklin and wife Bonita of Jena, and sister: Katherine (Franklin) Ellerbee of Columbia. His grandchildren: Sabrina Ross and husband James of Grayson, Jonathan Broadway of Whitehouse,TX; Chris Louis Richard, of Chattanooga,TN , and Allison Marie Richard of Colliersville,TN.
