Virginia Elizabeth Parnell Wyant, passed into her heavenly home on September 16, 2023, at the age of 82. Virginia was born on October 22, 1940, to Andrew Jackson Parnell and Lela Hale Parnell. Virginia worked various jobs, but her calling was as a caregiver. She began by caring for her brother and two sisters after the passing of her mother. She continued to provide care for her children and grandchildren. After her children were older, she began to babysit many children and minister to several older adults. Virginia exemplified her spirit the best in how she cared for Archie in his last years.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Archie Harold Wyant Sr.; son, Andy Hayden; grandchildren: Lisa Jacobson, Darren Jacobson and Justin Eldridge; sister, Janie Crutchfield; brother, Billy Wayne Parnell, and four sons-in-law: George Brown, Allen Canterberry, Mike Carmichael, and Mike Warren and her special Aunt Sissy Woods.
Family meant everything to Virginia. Those celebrating her homecoming are her eight children: Archie Wyant, Jr. and wife, Patsy of Cordele, GA; Jan Jacobson and husband, Denis of White House, TX; Patricia Wyant of Columbia, LA; Susan Warren of Phoenix, AZ; Wanda Brown, of West Monroe, LA, Debbie Carmichael of Columbia, LA: Carla O'Bier and husband, Jeff of Monroe, LA and Stan Wyant and wife, Alise of Bastrop, LA; and Pam Crawford of Monroe, La that was as close as a daughter; Daughter-in-Law, Sue Hayden of Monroe, LA. as well as 29 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren; her dear cousins Robert Lee Frisby and wife Myrtle and Joy Bocz.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Cross Roads Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 20, from 6 PM until 8 PM. A celebration service will be held at Cross Roads Baptist Church on Thursday, September 21 at 10 AM, with Brother Shane Duke leading her service. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Wyant, Randall Cassels, Steve Wyant, Michael Bates, Mitch Brown and Gary Cassels, with honorary pallbearers Les Fallin, Buddy James, and Joe C. Bates. Burial will be immediately following the service at Rosefield Cemetery.
