Graveside services for Ms. Virginia Banks Girod Ward, age 82 of West Monroe formerly of Columbia, will be 2 PM Monday, February 1, 2010 at Columbia Hill Cemetery with Rev. Stanton Groan officiating. Visitation will be Monday at Riser Funeral Home from 11 AM until 1:30 PM. Ms. Ward was born in Banks Springs on May 15, 1927 to the union of Alon Acie Girod and Hazel Potts Girod and went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, She was a member of Abundant Life Pentecostal Church and was a retired custodian. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister; Belle Poole and three brothers: Aubrey Girod, Alon Girod and James Emile Girod. Survivors include her son; Ronnie Ward of Arcadia and two brothers: Millard Girod and wife, Carolyn and Bo Spikes and wife, Pat all of Columbia. Pallbearers will be Randy Girod, Brian Girod, James Girod, Clarence Caples, Robert Barthol and Jimmy Langston.
