Velma Marie Roberts

Funeral services for Mrs. Velma Miles Roberts, age 89 of West Monroe, will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, April 28, 2011 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Danny L. McIlveene officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. Visitation will be Wednesday evening at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia from 5 PM to 8 PM. Mrs. Roberts was born in Enterprise, LA on September 26, 1921 to the union of Miron and Rosie Wilkes Miles and went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. She was a homemaker and a member of Sandy Bayou Baptist Church. Her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her two sons: James M. Roberts and wife, Barbara of West Monroe and Glenn Roberts and wife, Sherry of Columbia, three grandchildren: James L. Roberts and wife, Stephanie of West Monroe, Damen Roberts and wife, Dee of Ivanhoe, TX and Stacy Kaderka and husband, John of Deville, two great-grandsons: Lance R. Roberts and Bruer Roberts and two great-granddaughters: Sydney Roberts and Siarra Roberts. Pallbearers will be Damen Roberts, James L. Roberts, Barry O. White, Chris Watkins, James R. Stuart and Danny Nugent. Any planned memorials may be made to the LA Baptist Children's Home, National Federation of the Blind or a charity of your choice.
