Funeral services for Urcine Brandin Walker of Columbia, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church Columbia with Rev. Steven Fife and Rev Stewart Sherman officiating. She will be laid to rest in the family plot at Columbia Hill Cemetery, Columbia, Louisiana. Services are under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home in Columbia.
The family will receive guest from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, February 7, 2020 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home at 1321 N 7th St. West Monroe and 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday February 8, 2020 at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia.
Urcine was born January 18, 1928 in Columbia, Louisiana and passed away February 5, 2020 in Columbia, Louisiana. She was a former member of First United Methodist Church, Monroe, Louisiana and currently First United Methodist Church in Columbia. She was a member of the Monroe Quota Club and was a graduate of the class of 1944 Columbia High School. Urcine retired from Kilpatrick Funeral Home/Central American Life Insurance Company with over 40 years of loyal service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Urcin Brandin and step-son, Chuck Walker.
Urcine is survived by her husband, Charles C. Walker; daughters, Diane Stringer Morgan, Debbie Stringer Hodges and husband Danny; son, Kyle Brandin Stringer; step-daughter, Dr. Mary Jane Walker Gates and husband Royce; granddaughters, Buffy Morgan Kimbrell and husband Claude, Yvette Morgan and Adrienne Sage Hodges-Steele and husband Micheal; 2 step-grandchildren, Walker Gates and Meredith Gates; great-grandchildren, Trey Kimbrell, Brittan Kimbrell, Cody Waguespack, Morgan Kimbrell, McKayla Kimbrell, McKenzie Kimbrell and Blaze Steele; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Hodges, Michael Steele,Kyle Stringer, Henry Lee Nelson, Royce Gates, Claude Kimbrell and Bob Shearer. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Richard Light, Dale Esters, James Stuart and Sherman Harrelson.
