Funeral services for Mr. Travis Lavell Black, age 72 of Grayson, will be 2 PM Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Grayson Baptist Church in Grayson with Rev. C.R. Martin and Rev. James Carson officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. Visitation will be Monday evening at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia from 5 PM to 9 PM. Mr. Black was born in Sikes on August 15, 1937 to the union of Amos J. and Susie Mildred Hinton Black and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at his residence. Travis was a member of Grayson Baptist Church and a retired logger. He currently owned Black's Saw Shop since 1985. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and never met a stranger. His sense of humor and character will be remembered and cherished by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Jimmy Wayne Black and sister; Johnny Sue Buckley. Survivors include his wife of 50 years; Daisy Berry Black of Grayson, two sons: Randy Black and wife, Denea and Greg Black and wife, Shelia both of Grayson, two daughters: Pam May and husband, Clint of Columbia and Stacy Deville and husband, Richard of Grayson, grandchildren: Dustin May, Brittany May, Lavell Black, Brandy Stephens and husband, Charles, Thomas Lee Black, Lanie Richie and husband, Darren, Ricky Campbell and wife, Val, Dana Guerrero and husband, Earnest, Danielle Corley and husband, Mark, Tara Black, Jonathan McClanahan and wife, Jennifer and Tiffany McClanahan, great-grandchildren: Dakota Black, Remington Stephens, Maddie Stephens, Garrett Richie, Rosalee Richie, Michael Black, Macie Black, Coty Guerrero, Jackson McClanahan, Matthew Bailey, Aaiden McClanahan, Will Chappell, Cassie Chappell Boughton and Jullian McClanahan. Pallbearers will be Lavell Black, Thomas Black, Dustin May, Jonathan McClanahan, Ricky Campbell, Charles Stephens, Earnest Guerrero,and Mark Corley. Honorary pallbearers will be Dakota Black, Michael Black, Jackson McClanahan, Aaiden McClanahan, Remington Stephens, Matthew Bailey, Garrett Richie, Coty Guerrero and Will Chappell.
