Tommy Callender

Graveside services for Mr. Tommy Ray Callender, age 61 of West Monroe formerly of Urania, will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at New Union Cemetery in Tullos with Bro. Bobby Wilson officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening at Riser Funeral Home in Olla from 5 PM to 8 PM. Mr. Callender was born in Urania on October 23, 1949 to the union of Charles Mathis Callender and Josephine Tiffee Callender and passed from this life on January 1, 2011 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. He was a diesel mechanic with LA Pacific. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying deer hunting and white perch fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson; Charles Macon Callender. Survivors include three sons: Phillip Callender of Springhill, LA, Jason Callender of Olla and Brad Callender of West Monroe, daughter; Kim Austin and husband, Chris of West Monroe, two brothers: Charles Callender, Jr. of Urania and Richard Callender and wife, Vivian of British Columbia, Canada, sister; Dorothy Snider and husband, Mark of Richmond, VA, seven grandchildren: Phillip Callender, Jr., Braydon Callender, Travis Callender, Brayden Downes, Chelsea Dicks, Christina Austin and Katie Redmond and longtime friend; Sammy Crain. Pallbearers will be Phillip Callender, Jr., Ken Volentine and David Williams.
