Graveside services for Thurman Dewane May, age 65 of Clarks, will be held at 10 AM Friday, August 1, 2014 at Old Bethel Cemetery, Clarks, LA.
Visitation will be Thursday evening at Riser Funeral Home from 5 PM to 8 PM.
Mr. May was born on January 20, 1949, to the union of Waylon and Hazel Dartlon May. Thurman passed away on July 29, 2014, after a lengthy illness.
Preceding him in death are his parents, brother-in-law, Donnie Legg; mother-in-law, Dorothy Jean Clark and grandmother, Verlie Dartlon.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sharon Clark May; son, Joshua May; three daughters: LaDonna Smith and husband, Kenneth, Amy May and Julie Compton; sister, Diane Legg; two granddaughters: BriAnna Cooper and husband, Sean and Summer Compton and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Thurman served in the Army, then went into construction work, before becoming a car salesman at Ward's Chevrolet in Columbia. He loved fishing and hunting. When he was younger he was a wonderful dancer who loved to dance. He was also a "Who Dat" fan, loving his New Orleans Saints. Thurman was a loving, caring man, with a humble heart.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Ratcliff, Bob Cat Jones, Don Gregory, Billy Hogg, Jeremy Carter, Lance Legg, Storm Nappier and Mike Nappier.
