Thelma Stahl Rowland
Thelma Stahl Rowland died peacefully at home on Monday, March 2, 2015. Thelma was born in Dubberly, Louisiana on October 4, 1916 and has been a resident of Caldwell Parish, Louisiana for the last 75 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Columbia and a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Columbia Chapter.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, J.M. Rowland, her parents, her three siblings, and her daughter-in-law, Patsy Rowland. She is survived by one daughter, Sue Grisham and husband Marv and two sons, Charlie Rowland and wife Elisabeth and Dennis Rowland and wife Susan; three grandchildren, Sandra Russell and husband Bo, Donna May and husband David, and John Michael Rowland and wife Meggie; and three great-grandchildren Brady May, Colden Russell and Baylor Russell.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bo Russell, David May, John Michael Rowland, Jason Broussard, Charlie Rowland and Dennis Rowland. Honorary pallbearers are David, Troy, Jody and C.H. Boyd.
The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to Dr. P. Shroff for his outstanding care for so many years. Also, a special thanks to caregivers: Elvia Boyd, Mary Cupp, Sharon Bennett, and Eve Baylis.
The celebration of Thelma's life will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Riser Funeral Home of Columbia with Rev. Eric Harriman officiating. Interment will follow at Brushwood Cemetery in Dubberly, Louisiana at 1:30 pm. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Riser Funeral Home.
