Funeral services for Steven H. Callender, Sr., age 60, of Olla, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 15, 2016 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla with Bro. Cory Fowler officiating. Interment will follow at Urania Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Steven was born October 13, 1955 to the union of Huey and Beverly Callender in Urania and he passed from this life on October 12, 2016 at his residence in Urania. He enjoyed playing his guitar, hunting, and fishing. He loved his home state of Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his father: Huey Callender. He is survived by his wife of 27 years: Leone Callender of Urania; two sons: Steven Callender, Jr., and his wife Sabrina of Olla; Michael Callender of Urania; daughter: Amanda Callender of West Monroe; mother: Beverly Callender of Urania; step-daughter: Nikki Dobernig and her husband Michael of Dry Prong; two stepsons: Cliff Martin of Georgetown and Ben Williams of Monroe; brother: Wendell Callender and his wife Ann of Olla; grandchildren: Heavenly Callender, Huey Callender, Lexi Callender, Brittany Brunet, Kristen Brunet, Zachary Joseph, Timothy Joseph, Shelby Martin, Hunter Dobernig, Paizlee Martin, and Brynlee Martin; two great-grandchildren: Kalli and Sunni; niece: Myra Callender; nephew: Caleb Callender. Pallbearers will be Steven Callender, Jr., Michael Callender, Marcus Thornhill, Harold Meeks, Curtis Lindsey, and Zach Smith.
