Funeral services for Gary L. Wright, Sr. age 56 of Harrisonburg will be held 2pm Monday April 30, 2012 from the sanctuary of the Harrisonburg United Pentecostal Church with Rev. David Bailey and Rev. Jason Paul officiating. Interment will follow in the Tidwell Landing Cemetery at Sharptown, LA. Visitation will be on Sunday evening April 29, at the church in Harrisonburg from 4pm until 9pm. Gary Lavon Wright, Sr. was born on October 9, 1955 at Jena, LA to the union of his parents Connie Lee Wright and Mildred Armite Huffman Wright. He passed from this life on April 27, 2012 at the Lasalle General Hospital in Jena. Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents, and by his son Gary L. Wright, Jr and his brother L. C. Wright. Gary was a member of the Harrisonburg United Pentecostal Church, a member of the Harrisonburg Masonic Lodge # 110, and worked in Law Enforcement most of his life. He had served Catahoula Parish as a Police Juror, and was Fire Chief of Harrisonburg. He also owned and operated Gary Wright Bail Bonds. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Cynthia A. Wright of Harrisonburg; his son, Charles A. Wright and wife Laurie of Arabi, LA; his daughter, Brandi Jenkins and husband Billy of Dallas, Texas; step-son, Thomas Teabout of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi; and his step-daughter, Suzanne Fouasnon and husband Michael, of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. He also leaves four sisters, Nedra Boothe , Janice Wright- Boothe, and Linda Gayle Wright, all of Harrisonburg; and Bonnie Gunn of Sugarland, Texas; and his beloved grandchildren; Cynthia Fouasnon, Amanda Fouasnon, Jessica Teabout, Samantha Fouasnon, Christian Wright, Caitlin Wright, and Ian Jenkins. Pallbearers include Barry Boothe, Tommy Mayo, Hawk Holloway, Billy Glen Floyd, Jr., Richard Otero, and Gregory Poole. Honorary pallbearers include Billy Floyd, Sr., James Deville, Pete Tolar, Paul Blunsch, and men of Harrisonburg United Pentecostal Church. Online registry/ condolences: riserfuneralhomes.com
