Funeral Services for Mr. Corbet Lyonel Taylor, Sr., will be held in Banks Springs Baptist Church at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 7, 2010, with Rev. Eddie Riley officiating. Interment will be in Fellowship Cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm Wednesday, January 6, in the Church and from 8:00 am until time of services Thursday. Mr. Taylor, 72, of Columbia, was born on August 12, 1937 in Urania to the union of Jonie and Lennie Killens Taylor and passed from this life on Monday January 4, 2010 in Citizens Medical Center of Columbia. He was a tool pusher and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Marine Corps. Those left to cherish Mr. Lyonel are his wife, Laura Taylor of Columbia; Sons, Corbet Lyonel Taylor, Jr. of Columbia, Michael Taylor of Columbia; Daughters, Lonell Brown of Grayson, Sanchi Escalon of Columbia, Chris Evans of Columbia, Lori Rabon of Odessa, TX; Brothers, Billy Joe Taylor of Olla, Randy Drake of Winnfield; Sister, Cheryl Ponds of Winnfield; 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Steven Escalon, Bo Escalon, Cody Brown, Zach Brown, Luke Howard, & Dewayne "Sack" Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Brown and Whitney Taylor.
