Funeral services for Mr. Jessie Edward "Ed" James, Sr. will be 10 AM Monday, June 22, 2009 from the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Columbia in Columbia with Bro. Larry Russell and Bro. Wayne James officiating and James Carroll delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow at Columbia Hill Cemetery in Columbia. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon, June 21, 2009 at First Baptist of Columbia from 4PM to 7PM. Mr. James was born on August 1, 1956 in Columbia to the union of Jessie "Buddy" and Ethel Taylor James and passed away on Friday, June 19, 2009 in Columbia. Ed was the owner of Ed's Mechanical and Welding Service and a member of Sandy Bayou Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; Lisa Powell James of Grayson, his parents; Buddy and Ethel James, his grandmother; Onie Taylor of Clarks, three sons; Jessie E. "Eddie" James, Jr. and wife, Tracie of Channelview, TX, Robert Lee Volentine and wife, Amie of Crowville and Adam Cole Volentine of Columbia, daughter; Hollie Worley and husband, Andrew of Columbia, sister; Vicky Hill and husband, Jerry of Winnsboro, and seven grandchildren; Allen Lane James, Mahlyn Danielle Volentine, Madilyn Kay Volentine, Kallysta Raine Volentine, Riley Kate Volentine, Austin James Worley and Trevor Edward James and an eighth grandchildren expected in October 2009. Pallbearers will be Keith Cook, Sen. Neil Riser, Tom Poor, James Carroll, Charlie Simpson, Curt Dalton, Tony McManus and Monk St. Pierre.
