Funeral services for Charles L. Floyd, age 89 of West Monroe will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Rev. Nancy Owens of Woodlawn United Methodist Church officiating the funeral, the Masonic Brethren of Western Star Lodge # 24 delivering Masonic Honors, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars providing military honors. Interment will follow at the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. Visitation will be on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016 at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia from 9:00 am until time of service. Charles L. Floyd was born on October 4, 1926 at Columbia, LA to the union of his parents, Charles Elbert Floyd and Hattie Mae Luna Floyd and he passed from this life on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents, by twelve brothers and sisters, and his son, Eddie Floyd. He served in both the United States Navy and the United States Army in World War II. He was a cherished husband, loving father, brave veteran, proud Mason, faithful Christian and skilled craftsman. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of seventy years, Audie Lea Johnston Floyd of West Monroe; his son, Charles L. Floyd, Jr. and wife, Cindy of Lafayette, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His Masonic brethren will serve as pallbearers. Online registry/condolences: riserfuneralhomes.com
