Funeral services for Russell A. Flowers, Sr., age 77 of Tullos, LA, will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Olla, LA with Rev. Scott Tilton and Rev. Lamar Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Riser Funeral Home, Olla from 5 PM to 8 PM. Mr. Flowers was born on March 27, 1938 in Monroe, LA to the union of James Aldon and Lorene Dunn Flowers and passed from this life on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Grace Home, Alexandria, LA. Russell retired after working 47 years in the oilfield industry and he loved to fish. He served his country in the National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sally Ann Cockerham Flowers; brother, Fred Ainsworth, Jr. and two sisters: Janie Powell and Mary Sue Ainsworth Atwell. Those left to cherish his memory include three sons: Rick Atwell and wife, Judy, Ray Atwell and wife, Teresa and Russell Flowers, Jr.; two daughters: Sheila Randall and husband, Darrel and Carolyn Coates and husband, Ernest; two brothers: Virgil Flowers and wife, Violet and Jack Dunn and wife, Dewanna; sister, Marcie Ainsworth and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Nathan Perot, Jared Blackwell, Scott Cockerham, Patrick Cockerham, Paul Kimball, Joseph Kimball, Zach Kimball and Matthew Roark. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Roark and James Kimball.
