Funeral service for Mr. Eual Edward Douglas, Sr., age 75 of Olla, will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, July 20, 2010 from the sanctuary of Pine Grove Apostolic Church in Kelly with Bro. Johnny Barnhill and Bro. E.R. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery in Clarks. Visitation will be Monday evening at the Olla location of Riser Funeral Home from 5 PM to 9 PM. Mr. Douglas was born in Clarks on April 2, 1935 to the union of Elmer Boyd and Annie Doffitt Douglas and went to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 18, 2010 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. He has worked for the last forty years in the furniture and appliance business. He faithfully served LaSalle Parish as a Police Jury member for twelve years. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying deer and squirrel hunting and fishing white perch and catfish. One of his favorite pastimes was playing country music on his guitar. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 54 years; Betty Free Douglas of Olla, three sons: Eual Douglas, Jr. and wife Robbin of Olla, Charles Boyd Douglas and wife, Tonda of Olla and Rodney Douglas and wife, Kelly of Jena, brother; Boyd Douglas of West Monroe, three sisters: Margie Cox and husband, Doyle, Jenell Castle and husband, Charles and Virginia Booth and husband, Darryl all of West Monroe, twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and beloved dog, Nugget. Pallbearers will be Jerrod Douglas, Steven Douglas, Eual "Trey" Douglas, III, Tom Douglas, Jim Deramus and David Earl Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby McCartney, Ikey Harris and John Meredith.
