Funeral services for Samuel Peter Bruce Bonneau, Sr., age 70 of Trout, LA will be held at 2 PM on Friday, January 4, 2013 from the sanctuary of Shady Grove Pentecostal Church in Nebo, LA with Rev. Curtis Thornton officiating. Interment will follow at Olla Cemetery in Olla, LA.
Visitation will be Thursday evening at Shady Grove Pentecostal Church from 2 PM to 8 PM.
Mr. Bonneau was born on April 20, 1942 in San Antonio, TX to the union of Samuel Matthew and Dorothy Bruce Bonneau and passed from this life on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at his residence. He worked as an electrician for and retired with LP, then he went to work offshore and retired after 22 years with Diamond Offshore. He served and fought with the Army during the Vietnam War. His hobbies included woodworking and fixing old cars especially antique autos. He was a member of the Studebaker Automotive Club. He was a loving father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Wila Jean Bonneau.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons: Bobby Bonneau of Irving, TX, Bruce Bonneau, Jr. of Tullos and Jeff Bonneau and wife, Becky of Trout; daughter, Laura Thompson and husband, Anders of Olla; step-daughter, Judy Moreau and husband, William of Grayson; sister, Sally Pena and husband, Paul of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren: Jeffery Bonneau, Jr., Dayton Bonneau, Cory Bermea, Bridget Thompson, Chris Brister and Justin Phillips and special companion, Miss. Lucinda, his loving best friend.
Pallbearers will be Brad McCartney, Ronnie Biggs, Doug Finlay, Rusty Finlay, Blondie Francis and Wayne Gilliam. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
