Shirley Jean Adams

Services for Shirley Jean Adams will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 11, 2025 at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, La. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until time of service at 2:00. 

Shirley "Maws" Adams was born April 19, 1959 in Hazard Kentucky to the union of her parents, Rufus Adams and Christine Engle Adams and passed from this life, April 6, 2025 at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond LA. 

Maws was sassy, hard headed and full of life. She loved crafting, painting, and listening to music. Maws enjoyed digging for arrowheads and rocks. She also enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family and working in the yard. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Eddie McDivitt; daughter, CeLinda Bradley; brothers, Johnny Adams and Nelson Craft; sisters, Annalee Adams and Ponzella Stapleton. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Pearl Adams (April), Hassel Craft; sisters, Ruby Calvert, Jacqui Wetherbee, grandchildren, Megan McCluney (Jerod), Logan McCluney, and Thomas McDivitt; great-grandchildren, Landin Bailey, Karli Foster, Jace Foster, Eli Perot, Kinzley Love, Kayden Love; her special friend, Randy Girod; as well as a host of family and friends.

The family has chosen cremation after the funeral service and has asked that in Lieu of flowers that donations be made to Riser Funeral Home to help with the funeral cost. PO BOX 57 Columbia, La 71418.
