Funeral services for Bobbie Sherlene Rodgers Herrington, age 75 of Columbia, LA will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Columbia, LA with Pastor Joe Aguillard officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 5 PM to 9 PM at Riser Funeral Home, Columbia, LA. Sherlene was born on December 7, 1939 in Columbia, LA to the union of her parents, Warner and Hazel Tolbert Rodgers and passed from this life on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center/LA Extended Care Hospital, West Monroe, LA. She retired with the Columbia Developmental Center and was currently employed by Express Medical in Columbia, LA. She was a member of Kelly Baptist Church. Those preceded her death include her parents; grandson, Duncan Howard Childress and three brothers: James Rodgers, Bruce Rodgers and Dewayne Rodgers. Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her three sons: Charles Poole and wife, Debbie, Gary Poole both of Kelly and Tommy Poole of Columbia; daughter, Dianne Childress and husband, Tony of Kelly; two brothers: Drexell Rodgers and wife, Pat and Donald Rodgers both of West Monroe; sister-in-law, Essie Rodgers of West Monroe; grandchildren: Kristin Childress Kenworthy and husband, Sloan, Casey Poole, Megan Poole, Angie Boyles and husband, David and their children Peyton and Kaitlyn Boyles; special friends: Betty Campbell, Ellie Huddleston and Mamie Hargrove, whom she loved dearly and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Casey Poole, Kenny Rodgers, Mark Alford, Phillip Flores, Randy Minard and Jay Minard. Any planned memorials may be made to Kelly Baptist Church, PO Box 159, Kelly, LA 71441 or St. Jude's Children's Hospital. The family would like to thank the physicians and staff of the 2nd floor CVICU and the 3rd floor Louisiana Extended Care Unit of Glenwood Medical Center for their kindness, compassion and care for our mother during this time.
