Sammy Paul Redden, Sr.

Rev. Sammy Redden, Sr., age 61 of Columbia was born on March 24, 1959 at Bastrop, LA and passed from this life suddenly on April 24, 2020 at his home. Before becoming a minster and pastor Bro. Redden served his community as a Gideon for thirteen years. For the past eleven years he had served as pastor of Hebron Baptist Church near Sikes. Bro. Sammy really enjoyed the Shoe Box Ministry, a ministry of the Caldwell Baptist Association. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father Alfred Redden; his mother, Patsy Beckley; his step-father, William Beckley and his brother, Daniel Redden. Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are his wife, Margo Redden; his son, Sammy Redden Jr. (Kourtney); three daughters: Terri Stewart (Kevin), Wendi Palermo (Kent), and Linda Herrera (Victor); his brother, Tommy Beckley (Kristi); two sisters: Barbara Acevedo (Francisco) and Mary Hall; and his beloved grandchildren: Theresa Cooke (Brandon), Kerri Stewart, Trace Stewart, Isabel Palermo, Celia Palermo, Claudia Herrera, Vincent Herrera, Luke Herrera, Elena Herrera, Gloriana Redden and Casey Redden. Graveside funeral services for Bro. Sammy will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday May 11, 2020 at Shady Grove Cemetery, Farmerville, LA with Brother Kevin Stewart, Brother Victor Herrera and Brother Larry Russell officiating.
