Funeral services for Ruth Maurine Gunn Smith, age 80 of Grayson, LA will be held at 10 AM Thursday, June 20, 2013 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Randy Bureaux officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson, LA. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, LA from 5 PM to 8 PM. Mrs. Smith was born in Hebert, LA on October 16, 1932 to the union of her parents; Mac Neil and Cornelius Irene Johnson Gunn and passed from this life on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at West Monroe Guest House in West Monroe, LA. She was a homemaker and member of Grayson Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Deborah Irene Smith; sister, Barbara Stapleton and brothers: Herman Gunn, M.C. Gunn, Bailey Gunn and Arvil Gunn. Survivors include her beloved husband of 63 years; Malvin "Buddy" Malcolm Smith, Sr.; daughter, Karen Bellah and husband, Ron; son, Malvin Malcolm Smith, Jr.; sisters: Ethel Mott, Nadine Wachowski, Juanita Griffin and Francis Wylie; grandchildren: Candi Walls (Robert), Stanley Bellah (Shanda), Bear Smith (Sheri), Michael Bellah, Matthew Smith (Anna), Mollie Johnson (Leigh) and Mandi Johnston (Mitch) and great-grandchildren: Josef and Jaden Walls, Madison Smith, Kaitlyn and Hailey Smith, Connor, Blakeley, Seth and Waylon Bellah. Pallbearers will be Stanley Bellah, Michael Bellah, Bear Smith, Matthew Smith, Leigh Johnson, Mitch Johnston and Robert Walls.
