Ruth B Holloway

Funeral services for Ruth Holloway, age 83 of Columbia, Louisiana, will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia, Louisiana, with Cody Earnest officiating and Bobby Cato offering the eulogy. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery, Grayson, Louisiana. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home prior to the service on Tuesday beginning at 11:00 AM until service time at 2:00 PM.

Ruth Johnson Holloway was born January 8, 1939, to the union of her parents, Claude Johnson and Ruth Cauthron Johnson, and she passed form this life August 28, 2022, after a lengthy illness. Ruth loved the country life and being outdoors, whether she was fishing tending to her flowers and vegetables in her garden. She loved to cook and spend time with her family. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James R. Holloway, Sr.; grandson, James Daniel Holloway; and great-granddaughter, Blakely Saige Holloway.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, James R. Holloway Jr. daughters: Beverly Calhoun, Terry Rogers, Claudia Earnest (Marty), Ellie McGuffee (Glendon), and Carolyn Cato (Bobby); brothers: Benny Johnson (Carolyn) and David Johnson (Lisa); sisters: Barbara Bernard, Kathy Wilson (David), Bobbie Gregoire, Peggy Fletcher (Jimmy), Martha Hedgepath, Tammy Ray (Bill), and Elaine Hill (Gary); grandchildren: Andon (Rebekah), Heath (Amanda), James "Bubba" III, Adam (Reagan), Beth, Matthew (Katie), Cody (Haleigh), Casey, Erin (Marleigh), Erica, Hillary (Jon), Jake (Shay), Jason (Katlyne); numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her granddog, Skippy.

Serving as pallbearers will be Heath Calhoun, Michael Lofton, Matthew Holloway, Bobby Cato, Marty Earnest, and Cody Earnest. Honorary pallbearers are Adam Holloway, Bubba Holloway, and Andon Calhoun.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Elara Home Health and Hospice for the loving care they gave to Ruth in her final days.
