Roy Elton Mayes

Roy Elton Mayes was born on January 26, 1954  at Columbia, LA to the union of his parents, the late Audie Lillian Roberts Mayes and Herman "Red" Mayes. He passed from this life on March 31, 2024 following a brief illness.  Dad was seventy years old and he has reunited  with his parents, grandparents, his sister Julia and brother-in-law Charles.

He always loved to spend as much time with his family as he could.  He loved to garden,hunt, fish and just be outdoors when he could be. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his son, wheather that was just talking, watching Saints or LSU Football, or hopping in the truck and just ride sometimes for literally every waking hour. He was an inspector for the DOTD for twenty eight years. He always sought to treat everyone well and loved immensely.

Left to cherish his memory is his only child James; his brothers; Jimmy Mayes (Michele), Gary Mayes, John Mayes; and his sisters, Aline Norwood and Vivian Foster; and a passel of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was well -loved and will be well-missed.

Memorial service/Celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
