Roy Herman Masters, 74, a native of Clarks, LA and a resident of Olla, LA, died at 7:38 pm Wednesday, April 27, 2016.
Visitation will be at Standard Baptist Church Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 1 pm until time of service. A Liturgy of the Word will be at Standard Baptist Church at 2 pm Sunday, May 1, 2016 with Bro. Shad Tibbs officiating. Burial will be at the Olla Cemetery immediately following.
He is survived by his wife, Bert Masters; son, Ashton Masters; brother, Billy Masters; sister, Louise Goade; grandchildren, Chelsea Bryant and Tanner Masters; great-grandchildren, Emarie Black and Paisley Poole.
He was preceded in passing by his father, Emsley Masters and mother, Ovis Young Masters.
He served his country in the Air Force as Military Police. He was a Sales Service Engineer for Dowell Schlumberger for 27 years. He also was a 32nd degree Master Mason and former Masonic lodge President, a member of the Olla Volunteer Fire Department for 21 years, and served on the Olla Town Council. He loved restoring vintage vehicles, LSU football, landscaping, and visiting and drinking coffee with his friends. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
