Funeral Services for Mr. Ronald Carr, age 68 of Grayson, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Columbia Heights Baptist Church in Columbia with Bro. Jerry Wayne Hendrixson officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Columbia Heights Baptist Church.
Mr. Carr was born September 4, 1945 in Monroe, LA to the union of Sylvester and Rosie Carr and passed from this life on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Willis Knighton North in Shreveport, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Martha Jane Carr and two brothers: Earnest Carr and Horace Carr.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons: Peanut Carr and wife, Christy of Columbia and Brentney Carr of Pineville; his daughter, Rhonda Sue Guerrero and husband, Rudy of Columbia; four brothers: Cameron Carr of Georgetown, David Carr and wife, Rita of Grayson, Sylvester Carr, Jr. and wife, Debbie of Columbia and Donald Carr and wife, Fontaine of Coquille, Oregon; four sisters: Audrey Odom and husband, Junior of Oakdale, Ruth Carr of Pineville, Ruby Ingales of Winnfield, and Minnie Lindsay of West Monroe; grandchildren: Brooklyn Carr, Ethan Carr, Cheyenne Hatten and Celina Childress; great-granddaughter, Blakelynn Rhys and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jody Thompson, Scott Strickland, Wop Harper, Nick Rowland, Logan Edwards and Carl Cornwell. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Hatten, Randy Hatten, Ronnie Darden and Uncle Wayne Caskey.
The family would like to recognize Donna Carr, the love of his life, who was always there for him. Special thanks go to Junior Carr, Donna Dortch and Angie Davis for the special care they gave Ronald throughout his illness. Ronald will be greatly missed by his loving family, devoted friends and the entire community of Caldwell Parish. He lived life to the fullest, loved to help people and was always there for others in good times and bad. He was a pipeliner and owner of C & A Development Corporation. He loved the saying "Nothing finer than on old pipeliner." He had a work ethic that took him far in life and he never started anything he didn't finish. Ronald was a Masonic member and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
