Funeral services for Roger Darrell Denison age 61 of Monroe and formerly of Columbia will be held 2pm Saturday September 18, 2010 from the Columbia Chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Rankin and Brother Rick Richmond officiating. Interment will follow in the Fellowship Cemetery, west of Columbia. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 4pm until 9pm, and on Saturday from 10am until time of service at the funeral home located at 7131 U S Highway 165, Columbia. Roger Darrell Dennison was born on April 30, 1949 at Monroe, LA to the union of his parents Jack Alonzo Denison and Verna Mae Richmond Denison. He passed from this life on Wednesday September 15, 2010 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas following an extended illness. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, his son Scott Denison; his grandparents: Jessie and Bedie Richmond and George and Lessie Denison. Darrell was a truck driver with Amathyst Construction Company. Survivors include: His wife: Shirley Bailey Denison of Monroe. Son: Scooter Denison and special friend Tori Bailes , both of Monroe. Two brothers: Randy Denison of Vick, LA and Denny Denison of Grayson, LA . Sister: Anne Denison Harper and husband Jerry of Hebert. Mother-in-law: Geraldine Bailey of Columbia. Nine grandchildren: Sean Denison, Seth Denison, Hunter Talbert, Dalton Denison, Kylee Denison, Shelby Shepherd, Heather Denison, Dade McMullen, & Michaela McMullen. Special friends: Angel White, Summer May, and Kim Talbert. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousin's, friend's, and other family members. Serving as pallbearers will be: Bill Richmond, Tim Richmond, Danny McLain, Jimmy Denison, Jeff Denison, and Thomas Stapleton. Honorary pallbearers include all employees of Amathyst Construction Company. The Denison Family wishes to express its sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. Robert Berryman and Staff at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas for your undying love , support, and attention, shown to Darrell during the last many weeks of his illness. Your desire to help Darrell and each of us was unending. Also to Dr Barry Weinberger your attention to Darrell and the way in which you fought to help Darrell will never be forgotten. And finally last but not least we say thank you to Dr. Greg Sampagnaro and Staff at the St. Francis Medical Center here in Monroe for all that you did to help Darrell and your attention to detail in helping fight Darrell's illness. To all of you thank you so much and may God richly bless each of you. We will never forget all that you did to make the last weeks more comfortable for each of us especially for Darrell.
