Robert Simmons

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Monroe Simmons, age 66 of Clarks, will be held at 10 AM Friday, July 15, 2011 from the sanctuary of Banks Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Eddie Riley officiating. Interment will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery in Clarks. Visitation will be Thursday evening, July 14, 2011 at Banks Springs Baptist Church from 5 PM to 8 PM. Mr. Simmons was born in Monroe, LA to the union of Willis Monroe Simmons and Maud Watson Simmons and passed from this life on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. He was a member of Banks Springs Baptist Church. He loved his dog Linda and chickens. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother; Leroy Simmons. Survivors include two daughters: Shannon Cherie Graham of Wisner and Irene Michele Martin of Bossier, brother; Walter Lee Simmons of West Monroe, sister; Juanita Escalon and husband, Raymond of Monroe, grandchildren: Elton Tillman, Ashleigh Tillman, Bobby Tillman, Jr., Kalisha Payne, Holli Perryman, James Stevens, Jr., Valerie Martin and Donny Martin, Jr., great-grandchildren: Anna Hatten, Tyler Woods, Megan Woods, Danny Randall and Melanie Randall and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Joseph Escalon, Walter Simmons, Alvin Gosney, Elton Tillman, Phillip Flores and Adam Bruse. The family would like to thank Premier Hospice: Sharon, Joanne, Keisha and LaToya, NLCI: Dr. Ebeling and staff, the Cancer Foundation League and Dr. Ellerbe and staff of Columbia.
