Funeral Services for Mr. Richard M. "Ricky" Smith will be at 2:00 pm Friday, November 27, 2009 in the First Baptist Church of Columbia with Tommy Basco speaking & Rev. Eric Harriman officiating. Interment will be follow in Columbia Hill cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be from 5pm to 9pm Thursday, November 26 at Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Mr. Smith, 62, of Columbia, was born to the union of Hubert Raymond Smith and Onnie Estelle Pinion on February 26, 1947 and passed from this life on Monday, November 23, 2009 in Citizens Medical Center of Columbia. He was a registered nurse. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and caregiver of the community. He was such a loving and giving man that will be dearly missed by all. He certainly made the world a better place. Ricky was a wonderful dancer and loved riding horses. His thoughts of others before himself is a true testament to us all. He is preceded in death by his father, brother, Hubert Raymond Smith, Jr. and aunt, Ethel Whitlock. Ricky is survived by his mother, Onnie Estelle Pinion of Columbia; sister, Dianne Mitchell and her husband Mickey of Ore City, TX; niece, Tori Nichol Banner and husband Erik, of Dallas, TX with their children Isaiah, Kaleb, and Taylor; neice, Christi Ann Glaze of Montgomery, TX with her children Lauren and Caroline; nephew, Michael Joe Lansdale of Alaska and his daughter Faith of Longview, TX.; niece, Dede Ainsworth and her husband Billy Joe of Columbia with their children Rebecca, Megan and Bailey; as well as numerous cousins, family members, and friends. Pallbearers will be Matthew Barnhill, Gary Richardson, Jamie Evans, Donald Wilson, Billy Joe Ainsworth, Josh Smith, Ronnie Darden, Harold Potts, Erik Banner and Monty Adams.
