Rev. Dr. Ronald Lee Ostten, Sr., was born January 19, 1938, in Hebert, Louisiana, to the union of his parents, Walter, Lee Ostteen, Jr. and Allie Powell Ostteen, and he passed from this life into the arms of his Savior on March 18, 2024, at Baton Rouge, LA. Rev. Ostten was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Jean Marie Granger Ostten; daughter, Sandra Ostten McKenney; grandson, Daniel Robert McKenney; and his brother, Walter “Dub” Ostteen.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons: Ronald Lee Ostten, Jr. (Roberta), Steven Homer Ostten (Connie), and Jean-Paul Ostten (Elizabeth), daughter, Hope Ostten Curtis (Vance); sister, Joyce Hines (Willie), twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Rev. Ostten served 57 years in the ministry where he pastored churches, served as an evangelist and a missionary. Ministry was his heart. Serving the Lord and bringing others to Christ was not only his life’s work but his passion. His great faith was evident to all who encountered him. He spoke openly and boldly to everyone he met about the Lord and salvation. He touched so many lives throughout the United States and Canada and the scope and reach of his ministry cannot be measured. Bro. Ostten was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Through his family, he leaves behind a legacy of faith, hope, and love. When traveling he would often call his children to let them know he had made it to his destination using his favorite phrase, which is most appropriate now, “The eagle has landed.”Tuesday, March 26, 2024
