Clarence Ray Martin was born on December 24, 1960 to the union of parents, Jimmy and Mary Ann Grant Martin, and he passed from this life, on Wednesday March 8, 2023 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, Louisiana. Bro. C.R. accomplished many things in his life. He was a proud God fearing man who lived life to the fullest. He never met a stranger and left his mark everywhere he went. C.R. loved holidays, family trips, church gatherings, dancing and singing (even though he usually didn't know the words), and even buying things for people then going home to tell Stephanie not to look at the online banking. C.R. had a personality as big as his faith for the lord. He loved his growing church family, all the kids and their dedication. C.R. especially loved them little ones. He always took a extra minute to spend time with them. C.R. has touched so many lives and made countless memories. When it came to his family, he was a jack of all trades. He was their protector, provider, and even their on-call repair man. He was there to give them advice, argue with them just to aggravate, and remind them to always follow the Lord. C.R. graduated High School, and started working. He worked for over twenty-five years at Graphics in West Monroe, and over six years in Law Enforcement where he met a lot of people and made a lot of friends, and probably a few enemies. C.R. was on the school board for twenty-one years, and enjoyed being involved in this community that he loved. C.R.'s greatest gift started when the Lord called him to preach. Preaching was his passion and he was good at it. Even though he will be missed dearly around here, we will just sit back and smile knowing he is up there spreading his funny stories about his "old green truck" that nobody could operate but him, or telling them that "real men wear pink". Let's hope he remembers Stephanie has been combing his hair for the last fourty years and he starts telling them "He's got the look", just ask his wife, maybe they will be kind and stay silent.
C.R. was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jimmy Martin JR.; niece, Jessica Martin; mother and father in law, John and Johnnie Waggoner; and his brother in law, Kerry "Moose" Waggoner.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of fourty years, Stephanie Martin; daughter, Jamie Hendrix (Shane); grandchildren: Breanna Martin (Hunter Manly), Macy Franks (Trey), Cole Hendrix (Savannah), Cameron Hendrix, and Cohen Hendrix; great-grandchildren, Waylon Franks, and Lexington Hendrix; as well as a host of family, church family, work family (on both sides of the wall), and his dog, Rodeo.
Pallbearers will be Law Enforcement. Honorary pallbearers will include Brian Hall, Jerry Wayne Hendrixson, Darrell Crain, the men of Outreach, and the co-workers from Graphics.
