A celebration of the life of Randy Gilmore will be held on Saturday, July 9, at 10:00 a.m at Bethany Baptist Church in Hebert with burial to follow at Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive visitors before the service and on Friday evening from 5-9 at the church. Officiating the service will be Rev. Billy Lane McClanahan, Rev. Kristy Dunn, and Rev. Warren Maxwell. Randy Barron Gilmore was born on September 7, 1956 in Columbia, Louisiana to Ray and Juanita (Pinchie) Gilmore. He worked many years in the construction industry where he was well respected and admired by his employees and colleagues. He was an avid fisherman, and he especially loved spending time with his family and friends. After a valiant fight with cancer, Randy went to be with his Savior on July 6, 2016 at the age of 59. He was welcomed to his heavenly home by his parents, his mother-in-law, Velma Watson, and numerous other beloved friends and family. He leaves behind his wife, Ramona Gilmore, whom he called his angel on earth. He is also survived by his son, Brandon (Janna) Gilmore of Columbia, La and his daughters Amy (Todd) Whitecotton of Seabrook, TX, Leah (Pierre) LaCaze of LeCompte, LA, Vickie Crawford of Columbia, LA, Kendra (Keith) Stewart of Goldonna, LA, Heather (Michael) Czudek of Rosepine, LA, and Sarah Meadors of Fayetteville, AR. He was most proud to be called Pappaw by his 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He will be dearly missed by his brother, Glenn (Linda) Gilmore, nephew Glenn "Brother" Gilmore, niece Kim Gilmore and numerous great nieces and nephews, his sister-in-law Vernessa (Billy) McClanahan and brother-in-law, Jay (Sandy) Watson all of Columbia, LA. The family would like to thank the Hospice of Leesville and First Choice Hospice for their care. Serving as pallbearers will be: Rod Shipp,Chuck Esters,Courtney Dunn,Butch Hatten, Dale Hendrix and Glenn "Brother" Gilmore. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be :Mickey Cornwell,Dennis Carrol,and Jackie Lawrence.
