R E Perot

Funeral services for R. E. Perot, age 88 of Columbia, LA, will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 11, 2021, from the sanctuary of the Jigger Church of Christ with Bro. Stan Fortenberry officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery at Jigger, LA under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. The family will hold a visitation on Friday from 5 PM until 8 PM at the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home in Columbia and on Saturday at the church in Jigger from 10 AM until noon.

Mr. Perot passed away on December 6, 2021, at his residence in Columbia. He was born on November 17, 1933, in Columbia to the union of his parents, Henry Perot and Laura Holmes Perot. He served his country in the Unites States Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brothers and sisters: Butler Perot, Joe H. Perot, Frank Perot, James Perot, Lee Roy Perot, Mary Langley, Ida Lofton, Dorothy Thompson, and by his daughter Elaine Perot and by his cousins Richard Perot and Bill Perot.

R. E. loved fishing, working, drinking coffee, playing guitar, singing, shooting pool, hunting, and any outside activity. He loved spending time with his family, watching football, and playing with his grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of forty-three years, Portia Perot; his sons: Eddie Noland (Gwenae), M. R. Perot (Tiffany), Mark Noland, and Michael Noland; his daughter, Toni Baker; his grandchildren: Anthony Noland, Nathan Noland (Sarah), Liam Perot, Josephine Perot, Gauge Tucker, Destiny Tucker, Annalee Demites, Lacey Michaels, Kristi Hebert, Shanna Keller, Rebecca Escalon (Bo), Adam Rushing, Alex Rushing, and Lillian Ferguson; great-grandchildren: Nate Noland, Carter Rider, Addison Noland, Lane Michaels, Jackson Michaels, Evan Chauvin, Kason Fredericks, Sofia Higgins, Connor Hebert, Madelyn Keller, Maryn Keller, Emily Escalon, Noah Escalon, Asher Escalon, Taylor Mullenix, and Tyler Mullenix.

Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Cueto, Anthony Noland, Nathan Noland, Grady Pinchard, Kenneth Fatheree, Jim Cobb and Gauge Tucker. Honorary pallbearers include Liam Perot and Nate Noland.
