R. L. "Buddy" Watson

R. L. "Buddy" Watson was born on February 17, 1930, at Kelly, LA to the union of his beloved parents, Dennis Richard Watson  and Lillie Mae Currington Watson, and he passed from this life on August 29, 2023, at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia.

Known to all his friends as Buddy, he loved to play dominoes, go fishing and watch ballgames. His greatest joy was spending time with family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sherry Watson, one brother and four sisters.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Reggie Watson (Christy); his daughter, Karen Cruse (Chuck), his step-sons: Jim Sherman (Kathryn), Stephen Sherman (Jane) and Tom Sherman (Keri); eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; and also a friend he loved like a son, Buzz Petch.

A memorial service will be held at a later time.
