Phillip Lee Jones passed away peacefully at Ochsners LSU Hospital on February 11, 2024. He was born in Monterey, California on August 16, 1947.

His Father was stationed in Germany for seven years and then  retiring from the military, his family made their home in Minden, LA.  After graduating from high school.  Phillip graduated from Louisiana Tech University. 

Phillip served our country in the Armed Forces of the United States in Vietnam.  He was a medic in the jungles of Vietnam. He received honors for his service. 

Phillip’s profession was a tax preparer where he dedicated his time and efforts to becoming a Master Tax Preparer and Enrolled  Agent with a national tax service.  Phillip earned awards for excellent customer service. Phillip established rapport with his tax clients and put their interests first. Phillip enjoyed immensely LSU Football. 

In his younger years, he umpired high school basketball games and Little League baseball teams on weekends in Dallas. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosamond Ray Jones and Louise Zeagler Jones. Phillip is survived by his wife, Carole Woods Jones, his sisters, Rosie Gaston and Doris Copeland. Nieces are Theresa Peaker and Robin Brasher. Nephews are Kenny Peaker and Larry and Cindy Peaker,. his beloved pets. 

A service to commemorate Phillip’s life will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday March 19, 2024 officiated  by Dr. Joseph Fowler at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery located at 2413 Hwy. 425 Rayville, Louisiana.
