Funeral services for Phillip Edward Gilmore, age 76 of Wakefield, LA will be held at 3 PM Saturday, July 2, 2016 from the sanctuary of Little Star Baptist Church in Grayson, LA with Bro. Bennie Bratton officiating. Interment will follow at Clark Cemetery, Grayson. Visitation will be at the church from noon until time of service on Saturday. Mr. Gilmore was born in Wisner, LA on October 15, 1939 to the union of his parents, Vergie and Phillip Gilmore, Sr. and passed from this life on June 30, 2016 at St. Francisville, LA. He served in the navy and worked in the construction business as an ironworker. Phillip loved to hunt and fish and was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Randy Gilmore and grandson, Tommy Crockett. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Erma Clark Gilmore of Wakefield; three sons: Jimmy Crockett and his wife, Dana of Wesson, MS, Ricky Crockett of Columbia, and Noel Gilmore and his wife, Holly of Wakefield; daughter, Dana Garaham of St. Petersburg, FL; three brothers: Douglas Gilmore and wife, Jennie of Florida, Joel Gilmore of Denham Springs and Mack Gilmore of St Francisville; sister, Gloria Jean Cupit of Vidalia; grandchildren: Phillip Crockett, Ashton Gilmore, Rick Crockett, Teri Crockett and Blaice Gilmore; and great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Crockett, Braylee Crockett and Drennon Crockett. Serving as pallbearers will be George Cupit, Kacie Cupit, Keith Gilmore and Dennis Gilmore. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Crockett and Blaice Gilmore.
