Peggy Louella Wilson Blake walked into the presence of her Savior on June 23, 2023 at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home in Winnfield, Louisiana.

She was born on Monday, December 16, 1935 to the union of Lonnie Whitfield and Jessie Louise Boyett Wilson in Urania, Louisiana. At the time of her death Peggy was 87 years and 6 months old.

She accepted the Lord as her Savior on June 10, 1945 at the age of nine years old, in the home of her pastor, then joined Urania Baptist Church. After moving to Olla, she joined Olla First Baptist Church on March 9, 1958 where she continued to worship the next sixty-five years until her health declined. She loved and was blessed to be a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class.

After graduating from LaSalle High School in 1954 Peggy married and worked a variety of jobs including nursing assistant, store clerk, kindergarten teacher, and owner/operator of The Family Shoppe. Her last employment was at Hardtner Medical Center where she worked in the business office for twenty-seven years. Her favorite roles however, were daughter, wife, mother and Maw-Maw.

Through the years, Peggy has had many hobbies including; bowling, traveling, reading and painting. She also enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends, attending homecomings, concerts, playing Pokeno, Garden Club and just riding around town. One of her gifts was to plan and decorate for holidays and birthdays in order to make them special for her family. Christmas, was her favorite holiday and she never lost her excitement to open her twelve day gifts and drive around looking at the Christmas lights.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lonnie Malcolm (Buddy) Wilson, son-in-law Jeff Sadler, granddaughter-in-law Frances White as well as many precious friends and relatives.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Karen White and her husband Jimmy of Winnfield and Paula Sadler of Shreveport. Grandchildren and great grandchildren: Jennifer and husband Brad Watts and son Tyler of Carrollton, Ms., Jodie and husband Paul Busha and daughters Olivia and Blakelyn of Winnfield, Joseph and wife Melissa White and children Jonah, Brian, Brianna and Clay of Winnfield, Shannon and husband Tim Saksa and children Andrew, Alexander, Alaina and Alyssa of Shreveport, Ryan and wife Michelle Allen and son Ashton of Shreveport and Justin and wife Felisha and children Tori-Lyn and JJ of Los Lunas, NM. Sister-in-laws Frances and husband Alvin Spence and Sallie and husband Donny Lowery as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 24th from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. at Riser Funeral Home in Olla and from 1:00 p.m. until time of services on June 25th at Olla First Baptist Church. Services will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Olla First Baptist with Bros. Jack Miller and Joseph White officiating. Interment will follow at Beech Creek Cemetary.

Honoring the family as pallbearers are: Glen Henderson, Gary Wilson, Keith Reichardt, Jay King and Tim Spence. Honarary pallbearers are Wendell Wilson, K.P. Wilson, Alvin Spence and Donny Lowery.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Autumn Leaves Nursing Home and Legacy Hospice for loving, supporting and ministering to both mom and our family. To the Dorcas Sunday School Class, family and friends that have called, texted, visited, ran errands and loved on us during Mom's last weeks we thank God for each of you.
