Norma Jo Spruell

Funeral services for Norma Jo Parkerson Spruell, age 62 of Grayson, LA will be held  10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia, LA with Bro. Denver McBroom officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery, Grayson. The family will have visitation at the funeral home on Monday, June 19, 2023, from 5 PM until 8 PM.

Norma Jo was born September 19, 1960, to the union of her parents, Thomas Arby Parkerson and Elizabeth Jo Murrey Parkerson, and she passed from this life on June 17, 2023, after an extended illness. After working for 26 years, Norma Jo retired from State Farm Insurance but not wanting to be idle, she worked at Hardtner Medical Center as a medical clerk for several years. She never met a stranger and made friends easily. She was a good friend and had many good friends who she loved to visit. In her spare time she enjoyed crafting. Mostly, she loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Mike James and Warren Spruell; and nephews, Trent Parkerson and Dewayne Beckley.

Those left to treasure her memory are her siblings: Cathy Beckley, Tink Parkerson (Kathy), and Renae Cubbit; a special nephew who was also her caretaker, Roy Spruell; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Hunter Beckley, Hogan Beckley, Cole Beckley, Cameron Beckley, Caden Beckley, and Jesse Richmond.
