Services for Mrs. Nellie Mae Ford Nugent, age 88 of Columbia, will be 10 AM Thursday, September 4, 2008 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Kent Nugent officiating. Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Grayson. Visitation will be 5 PM to 9 PM Wednesday evening at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia. Mrs. Nellie Nugent was born on January 1, 1920 in Columbia to the union of Owen Washington and Bertha Cassels Ford and passed away Sunday, August 31, 2008 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. Mrs. Nugent was a member of Sandy Bayou Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Doyle Nugent and three sisters; Eloise Crawford, Gladys Doughty and Sadie Strickland. Survivors include her three daughters; Barbara Thompson of Jena, Brenda Fluitt and her husband, Roddy of Columbia and Cheryl Sanders of Columbia, three sons; Ken Nugent and his wife, Darlene of Calhoun, Carl Nugent and his wife, Nancy of Columbia and Danny Nugent and his wife, Sandy of Columbia, her sister; Ethel Smith of Columbia, fifteen grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Heath Fluitt, Johnny Hyde, Brett Crosby, Lee Townsend, Andy Binkley and Daniel Binkley. Honorary pallbearers are Christopher Byrnes, Cody Hyde, Courtney Hyde and Gus Hyde.
