Nelda Jean Lasiter

Nelda Jean Smith Lasiter, age 71 of Olla, was born on April 12, 1950 at Urania, LA to the union of her parents, Earl Smith and Ethel Walker Smith, and she passed from this life on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at her residence in Olla. Nelda was a business owner most all of her adult life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lasiter. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and sister and will be missed by family and friends alike.

Left to cherish her memory are two sons: James Donald Morrison, Jr (Jimmie) and Brandon Shane Morrison; her step-sons: Shane Lasiter and John Mark Lasiter; her ten grandchildren, who meant so much to her: Emily Morrison, Andrew Morrison, Eli Morrison, Gracee Morrison, Sonia Morrison, Anand Morrison, Sheridon Lasiter, Slayton Hines, Lucas Lasiter, Conner Stockstill, Bailee Kelly and a great-grandchild, Lennon Hines. She also leaves behind her brother: Lester Smith, two sisters: Pam Mauterer and Annette Wilson.

A memorial service and celebration of Nelda's life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 24, 2021, from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Aguillard officiating. The Lasiter family will receive guests on Saturday at the funeral home located at 7131 U S Highway 165, from 12:00 PM to time of service at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers any planned memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Childrens Home, 7200 Desiard Street, Monroe, LA 71203
