Funeral services for Nathan R. Cotten, age 80, of Aimwell, will be held at 10:00 AM Sunday, July 1, 2012 at New Life Pentecostal Church in Aimwell with Bro. David W. Poole and Rev. Norris K. Poole officiating. Interment will follow at Aimwell Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday starting at 5:00 PM at the church. Services are under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Nathan was born November 22, 1931 to Purvis and Eva Young Cotten in Harrisonburg and he passed from this life on June 28, 2012 at St. Francis Cabrini Medical Center in Alexandria. He was a pulp wooder and he was a member of New Life Pentecostal Church in Aimwell. He served his country in the Army and served in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Grace Cotten and Vergie Westbrooks; three sons-in-law: Bobby Garsee, W. J. Book and Jerry Bradford; and daughter-in-law: Abby Cotten. Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven years: Omega Randall Cotten of Aimwell; two sons: Robert Cotten and his wife Jelena of Copenhagen; Billy Cotten of Aimwell; five daughters: Kay Book of Aimwell; Peggy Garsee of Nebo; Dona Bradford of Winnfield; Tonya Holladay of Columbia; Lory Lynn Sharp and her husband Aaron of Aimwell; two brothers: Earl and Larry; five sisters: Helen, Rose, Jane, Evelyn, and Dorise; seventeen grandchildren: Jen, Leslie, Jeffrey, April, Ludi, Robert Jr. "Little Man", Aaron, Allen, Justin, Dustin, Lundi, Ryan, Kendall, Bailey, Case, Kimber, and Austin; twenty three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Peggy Garsee, Brent Fitzgerald, Scott McLendon, Ron Renfro, Jeffrey Kennon, and Kendall Guerrero. Honorary Pallbearers will be Justin Cotten, Dustin Cotten, Lundi Cotten, Ryan Cotten, Robert Cotten, Jr., Jeffrey Montpelier, and Austin Ireland.
