Funeral services for Nancy Edna Stamper, 89, of Hebert, LA will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Riser Funeral Home, Columbia, LA with Rev. Dennis Evans and Rev. Roy Lowery officiating. Interment will follow in the Woolen Lake Church of God Cemetery in Hebert.
Mrs. Stamper was born on October 23, 1922, and passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012 at her home in Hebert, LA, after a lengthy illness.
She was a devoted housewife and mother, member of Woolen Lake Church of God, and enjoyed quilting and gardening.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bertha and Lonnie Evans; her brothers, Alonzo and Talmadge Evans; her sisters, Evelyn Noland and Margie Willis; her husband of 61 years, Woodrow S. Stamper; two sons, Norman and Edward Stamper; and two grandchildren, Joshua and Ashlee Duchesne.
Survivors include her son, Glynn Stamper; daughters, Joyce Adams (Jimmie); Janis Brannen (Lowell); Jo Anne Lowery (Jerry); and Jeanie Duchesne (Jeff); 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, friends; and special care-givers, Mackie Duchesne, Zona Washington, Ricky Lowery, and Kaye Crain.
Visitation will be held from 5 PM to 8 PM Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Riser Funeral Home, in Columbia, LA.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Jonathan Brannen, Steve Bartlett, Brian Lowery, Jordi Duchesne, Michael Stamper and Jesse Lowery. Honorary pallbearers will be D'wayne Stamper, Stephen Brannen and Jared Stamper.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Premier Hospice and Citizens Medical Center for their special services to our Mother and our family.
Mrs. Stamper lived her life in such a way that her children proudly rise up and declare her "blessed." (Pro. 31:28)
