Mildred M. Cox Oser was born on January 10, 1935, in Provencal, LA to the union of her parents Walter M. Clary and Ruby Lola Clary, and passed from this life on Friday September 17, 2021, at the St. Vincents Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas, following an extended illness. She was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of the Church of Christ.
Mildred grew up in Natchitoches Parish Louisiana, and at age 19 she met her first husband , Floyd Cox while working as a waitress, and they were married for thiry eight years until his passing in 1994. The following year she and Alton Oser, which were both members of the Columbia Church of Christ, were married for twenty three years until his passing in 2018.
Mildred was a woman of few hobbies, her enjoyment came from cooking, gardening, spending time with family but what she loved most of all was spending time in the scriptures and serving her God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband Alton Oser, her first husband; Floyd Cox, her daughter Lena Rollins; her daughter Tina Sosa; her son Daniel Cox; her step-son: Darrell Oser, and by one sister: Iree Stoker, by three brothers: J.D. Clary, Kenneth Clary and George Clary.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories is her children: Floyd Cox, Evelyn Rachel and Vercie McWilliams; her step-children: Arlan Oser, Nyla (Oser) Hill and Alton N. Oser, JR: her sister; Lola Jones and her brother Charles Clary; several nieces and nephews, and more than thirty-five grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Most important, Mildred was a woman of God that showed her love of the Lord through actions.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday September 23, 2021 from the sanctuary of Columbia Church of Christ with Minister Jonathan Long officiating./ The Oser family will host a visitation on Thursday as well at the church from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson with services under the direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jordan Powell, Jason Wade, Adam Sosa, J. T. Martin, Timothy Hackett and Drew Keahey.
The family of Alton Oser, SR would like to express their deepest love and sympathy to Mildred's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mildred brought joy and hope to our family, and will be greatly missed; thank you for sharing her with us these past twenty six years.
In accordance with the Covid 19 Mandate put in place by Louisiana Governor John Bell Edwards, it is requested that masks be used and social distance accordingly.
