Melissa Ann Tarver

Melissa Ann Tarver, age 64 of Grayson and former resident of Cutoff, Louisiana was born on September 6, 1957, at Ferriday, LA to the union of Riley James Powell and Hettie Mae Parsons Powell and she passed from this life on March 28, 2022, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe following an extended illness. 

Melissa was known for her kindness to others. She loved people and was an animal lover. Even in death Melissa chose to help others by being an organ donor. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two children: Jacquelyn Nicole Ham and Angelo James "Jimmy" Tarver, and her siblings: William Nathan Powell, Ava Ruth Berryman, Rita Griffin, Robert Wayne Powell and Letha Mae Powell.

She is survived by her daughters, Sonja R. Tarver and Cecilia M. "CeCe" Tarver; two sons, Nathan R. Tarver and Jeffery "el Jefe" Tarver; two brothers, Charles "Bo" Powell and Larry Powell; five sisters: Wanda Sumerall, Bettie Williams, Carolyn Mills, Connie Berryman and Debbie Powell;  grandchildren: Angelo James Tarver, Jr., Shane Joseph Tarver, Tanner J. Ham, Zachary T. Woolam, Josephine L. Woolam, Seth Johnston, and James Ham; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her family and friends.
